Abstract
Al-Anon Family Groups constitute a remarkable self-help, nonprofessional modality of group therapy and group education for spouses, relatives and friends of alcoholics. This paper describes Al-Anon meeting format and group behavior in a West Coast metropolitan area, and analyzes the operational principles which underlie the Al-Anon process.
