Group Work With Parents of Retarded Adolescents
Abstract
Parents’ feelings about their retarded children and conflictual wishes regarding their children’s dependency sometimes cause them to be uncooperative with helping agencies, including vocational schools. The combination of counseling with therapy for the parents is uniquely suitable for helping their children. Experience with a short-term group is described.
