Psychotherapy with the Neuropsychologically Impaired Adult

Psychotherapy can be meaningfully undertaken with the neuropsychologically impaired patient, but modifications should be employed to deal with the impact of neuropsychological deficits on treatment. Neuropsychological evaluation is needed along with assessment of premorbid personality and postmorbid emotional factors. Guidelines for adapting treatment approaches to adults with (acquired) brain damage are suggested.
