Treating the Iatrogenically Infantilized Patient

Patients all too frequently are provided with psychotherapeutic aid in spite of poor responses to treatment in the past. The result, at times, is the creation of an iatrogenically infantilized patient. This phenomenon is discussed and a case study is presented describing a nonconventional approach with this group of patients.
