Self-Destructiveness in Adolescence
Abstract
This is a study of the role of disturbed regulatory function in teenagers. Early negative events dunng infancy appear to instill an inner presence that functions as a negative ideal. This in turn makes for a driven pattern of punishment-seeking, self-injurious behavior including self-mutilation, drug addiction, and antisocial acts.
