Delusions of Parasitosis: Psychotherapeutic Engagement
Abstract
A psychotherapeutic approach to the treatment of a delusion, infestation by parasites, is presented. The treatment process enables the patient to make a transition from a somatic complaint to a self-realization of psychic pain. The authors maintain that this approach offers a practical and logical method for interacting with these therapeutically refractory individuals.
